League & Cup Double for 2nd Team (11th May)
 
Terenure
FC 2nd Team (Division 3A) recently won the Sidney Bedlow Cup after a
2-0 victory over Emerald Celtic in the VEC Grounds (Saturday 11th May),
on the same day in Division 3A, results went in Terenure's favour to
hand them the League title.
This brings the number of Trophies for the current season to four for the Club.
With
the 1st Team still in contention for the Division 2 title with four
games to play this is without doubt the most successful season in the
Clubs History.
It also marks Terenure Football Club as the most successful Club in the United Churches Football League for the 2007/08 Season.



Cup Double for 1st Team...!!

Shield Cup Final, Monday 5th May, Terenure FC 4 - 0 VEC FC



After
winning the MMI Cup recently against San Marino (5-4 on Pens AET 2-2),
Terenure FC 1st Team now have added the Division 2 Shield after
comprehensively beating local rivals VEC FC 4-0 at Sportslink Santry
with Goals from Declan Murtagh, Freddy Mitchell, Patrick Mc'Auley &
Ross Hanningan.
Declan Murtagh now finds himself with 36 Goals in
all Competitions. It also saw Patrick Mc'Auley make his long awaited
return to action after a overcoming Knee injuries and was rewarded with
his first goal in over a year.

On Monday 28th April Terenure
easily saw off an experienced Stedfast Utd in Tymon Park winning 3-1.
Goals scored by Declan Murtagh scoring one to bring his season tally to
an impressive 32, Fred Mitchell once again found the net to follow up
after his 2 goals in the Cup Final and Brian Donlon rounded off the
scoring with a cool finish to bring his season total to 9, after some
good displays for the 3rd Team in recent weeks he now finds himself in
a second final with the 1st team.

This result was followed up with victories in the League over Harding 5-2, Dollymount 2-1 and another victoy over VEC 2-0.


MMI Cup Success!!

Terenure FC 1st Senior won the MMI Cup Final on Saturday 26th April in Whitehall (Home Farm) against San Marino. (Above Picture)
After
taking an early lead through Fred Mitchell, San Marino came back into
the game and took a 2-1 lead, however mid way through the 2nd half the
ball was once again found at the feet of Fred Mitchell who slotted the
ball home to tie the game at 2-2.
After 20mins of extra time there was no seperating the teams and the dreaded penatly shootout followed.
San Marino were first up and David Bourke saved brilliantly to give Terenure the advantage.
The
Next 9 Peno's were all scored which gave Terenure a 5-4 victory. John
Kiernan, Fred Mitchell, Robert Rogers, John Walsh and Ross Hanningan
were the scorers for Terenure to give the Club its first trophy in a
number of years.

In the Semi Final,
two
goals from in form striker Declan Murtagh which saw his season tally
hit 31 was enough to defeat a battling Fingal Utd 2-0...
