Terenure Football Club are delighted to announce that we will be providing Schoolgirls Football in 2010. The Club is actively trying to develop and grow a Schoolgirls Section to the Club.
We are aiming to launch the Schoolgirls Section to the Club in April 2010
We seek Players from all area's, abilities and ages, no experience required. We will look to have enough Players to enter Teams in the Girls Summer League (Under 10's, 12's and 14's) along with our Soccer Sisters Academy (Age 4-8) that will announce details in the New Year.
In the New Year we will start up a Girls "Soccer Sisters" Academy. We hope to achieve this by working with the FAI in carrying out a number of Football Coaching Sessions in the Local Schools. If you have a Daughter, Family Member or a Friend, of any age interested in playing then please get in contact as we aim to create a Schoolgirls Development Academy (Age 4 - 14). It is the aim of the Schoolgirls Section of the Club to focus on Player development that will be achieved by each Girl having Fun, Learning new Skills, playing Small Games and making new Friends. They will learn the disciplines and fundamental rules of the game and forge new friendships and develop interpersonal skills, while developing their overall skills. The Long term strategy is develop each Girl to their potential and give them a pathway for long term participation in Football by playing on League Teams at under 12's and 14's. At Age 16 the opportunity then exists to play on the Womens Senior Team.
The Coaches for each of the Girl Teams will come from our Senior Women's Team under the guidance of our Schoolgirls Development Coach. We will be working with the FAI Development Officers to create the awareness of our new Teams with the Schoolgirls in some of the Local Schools.
